Adult Strabismus

Strabismus is a medical condition in which the eyes are not in proper alignment with each other.

We provide comprehensive eye care for adults of all ages with strabismus.  We will first determine the patient’s particular type of strabismus and provide treatment accordingly.  Depending on the patient’s condition, such treatment may include prisms, glasses or surgery.  While surgery is reserved for more severe cases, it is an outpatient procedure and patients recover quickly within just a few days.  We schedule follow-up visits to monitor the indicated treatment (whether it is surgery or a less invasive measure) to ensure that the patient receives the best care possible.

If you have further questions about adult strabismus, please visit the American Association for Pediatric and Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) or the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), or give us a call.  Also, check out some of the frequently asked questions below from the AAPOS website with regards to strabismus cases in adults.
